Greetings! My name is Jennifer and am the Director of Youth Ministries at First Christian Church, Hagerstown. I am a middle school science teacher for Washington County Public Schools and have over 13 years of teaching experience in public school education. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, a Master’s degree in Education and numerous other certifications and post-graduate educational experience.
I am a long-time congregant of FCC and have had the opportunity to participate in and serve our congregation in various ways. A few examples include serving as Elder, deacon, participating in the handbell choir, and being a camp counselor for numerous Chi Rho and CYF retreats and camps. It is a delight to be able to serve our congregation in this capacity, as leading our youth is where I am most passionate. Our youth serve as a bridge between our present and our future and my hope is to provide them with the space to grow into their faith and find their own passions and talents which they can use to serve not only our congregation, but our broader community.
Outside of work and church, I enjoy spending time with my six nieces and nephews. When I’m not teaching shenanigans to my nieces and nephews, I’m either working in my yard, cooking/baking, or out on the trail, hiking, camping and backpacking.
