Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) and Ash Wednesday signal preparation for Lent. As polar opposites, Mardi Gras recalls fat living, abundant living to the reflection on our mortality of Ash Wednesday. The season of Lent calls for a time of self-examination and introspection of your life. We hope you will make a special effort to share in worship in this holy season.
On Wednesday, February 22nd, we will offer brief Ash Wednesday services of worship between 12:00 Noon and 1:00 PM and then again between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Each Service will be approximately 15 minutes.
You may come to the Narthex area outside the sanctuary of the church anytime during those hours and the next service will begin very shortly. These fifteen-minute services are intended to be very personal, intimate services that will include the celebration of communion and the opportunity for those who wish to receive the gift of ashes either on the forehead or the back of the hand. We hope that you will plan to come and share in one of these services.
